  • Cluck, Cluck – We’re just some of the Hens at Diane’s Eggs. She has over 350 laying hens, so we have lots of sisters. We lay green, brown, white, and blue eggs. Diane calls them Rainbow eggs, and when you open the carton, it is just like looking at candy!

Diane is licensed by the State of California as a “small flock egg producer”. Her farm is at the end of San Miguel Rd., in Bonita. We love it here. Every day, Diane lets us out to run around and we stuff ourselves on all the tasty morsels we find. Then she feeds us our scrumptious food and our very favorite Alfalfa (it’s what makes our egg yolks so orange).

We do our darndest, laying eggs everyday so Diane can deliver them to all our friends and customers around the Eastlake and Bonita area. There is nothing better then fresh eggs from the farm.

Diane can set you up so you can get your eggs delivered on a regular basis (subscription service), where you can get 2 or more dozen delivered to your door. She even has free delivery to many areas in Eastlake (or a small delivery fee if you are outside that area).

All she needs to get you started is your name, address and telephone number. She will contact you about which day of the week she will deliver, and then the morning of your delivery, she texts you to tell you what time she will be there (easy as chicken pot pie!)

You can also pick up your eggs here at the farm, just make sure to call or text a day or two before to make sure she can put eggs aside just for you.

Diane also involves us chickens in other fun things as well. If you are interested, she has a special interactive family program called the Farm Eggsperience, We also do Pony and Farm Birthday Parties and Horseback Riding Lessons. Here’s Diane’s number: (619) 929-2568. Go ahead and give her a call or text.

We offer several Homeschool Programs including the Horseback Discovery Leadership Program, Homeschool on the Farm and Homeschooling with Horses.

Hoot’s Hollow Farm is an approved vendor for Pacific Coast Academy (PCA).

Horseback riding offers a unique learning experience that extends beyond the confines of traditional educational settings. As riders interact with a living, breathing animal, they develop crucial skills such as patience, empathy, and communication. The physical act of riding engages multiple senses and promotes sensory integration, which can enhance cognitive function and focus. Moreover, the bond formed between rider and horse fosters a sense of responsibility and self-confidence, key attributes that contribute to academic success. Overall, horseback riding serves as a dynamic learning tool that not only strengthens academic performance but also nurtures personal growth and development.

Welcome to The Farm

Hi, I’m Diane Carter, your neighbor in Bonita, CA. After retirement, my husband and I decided to change our diet, in order to improve our health. As part of that I started raising chickens in order to get healthy eggs. I took a class put on by University California, Davis, and learned about Pasture-Raised chickens and how to become licensed by the state of California. I thought other people in the area might be interested in healthy eggs and decided to get licensed. That was 5 years ago. During Covid, I opened the farm to families, and started the “Farm Eggsperience”. We also offer the Horseback Discovery Program, Homeschooling activities, children’s Pony Parties, and a Venue space for parties and weddings.

Welcome to Hoot’s Hollow Farm, Bonita CA.
